Audrey exemplifies great leadership and continually strives to make improved differences in individual lives and in the community. Audrey Wilcox’s Motivational segment “Get A Grip” has aired on Indyjz.com, an internet jazz radio station since December of 2008. Now, Audrey has joined Neo Jazz Radio as our Motivational Speaker. Audrey Wilcox’s daily word of encouragement “Get a Grip” reaches and encourages thousands of listeners daily. Her daily messages motivate, uplift, encourage and sometimes add humor to various life situations. With today’s strained economy causing financial and personal stress, Audrey’s positive motivational messages have been and will continue to be welcomed by our listeners and other audiences as she embarks upon speaking in our community to youth and outreach programs. In addition to Motivational Speaking, Audrey is currently working towards her PhD in Public Health. Her goal is to create awareness for and educate on health disparities and partake in preventive and solution based programs.
Audrey Wilcox is currently an Education Coordinator for Indiana Organ Procurement Organization, an organization that is involved with recovery of organs for transplantation. In the field of organ and tissue donation, she advocates for those who are on the transplant list. Her role in the donation process is to coordinate trainings and workshops for the entire organization so that they are more proficient within their skill set and professionalism. Overall, the skill enhancements provide validity in the decision making process of organ donation and the allocating process of organs so that the outcome is beneficial for the recipients.
Other involvements with her organization include, providing education to the minority community through IOPO’s Multicultural Committee about organ donation and the need for more diversity in donor candidates. There are a great number of myths and misconceptions that have evolved over the years that interfere with a person’s choice to make an informed decision. Alongside the Multicultural Committee’s mission, her goal is to educate, ridding the myths and misconceptions in various communities. Audrey has contributed to the community by being involved in radio announcements and events sponsored by WTLC promoting the need of organ and tissue donation.
